Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Food & Beverages and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sider (LM:SID), which rose 4.36% or 0.016 points to trade at 0.383 at the close. Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) added 1.55% or 0.180 points to end at 11.800 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was up 1.18% or 0.010 points to 0.860 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Panoro (LM:PML), which lost 7.14% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.130 in late trade. Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) declined 4.29% or 0.090 points to end at 2.010 and Bco Continenta (LM:CON) shed 2.55% or 0.110 points to 4.210.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 11 to 8 and 15 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.60% or 0.29 to $48.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.13% or 0.07 to hit $51.99 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.99% or 24.62 to trade at $1261.02 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2695, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6431.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.77% at 97.34.
