Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Industrials and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sider (LM:SID), which rose 5.88% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.720 at the close. Inretail Peru (LM:INR) added 4.17% or 1.000 points to end at 25.000 and Minsur (LM:MINi) was up 3.66% or 0.060 points to 1.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Panoro (LM:PML), which lost 3.70% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.260 in late trade. Enel Distribucion Peru SAA (LM:ENE) declined 1.72% or 0.100 points to end at 5.730 and Bco Continenta (LM:CON) shed 1.32% or 0.060 points to 4.500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 11 and 15 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.14% or 0.10 to $71.59 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $79.53 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.12% or 1.50 to trade at $1290.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.09% to 3.2749, while EUR/PEN rose 0.04% to 3.8660.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 93.39.
