Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Services, Electricity and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.33% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 4.23% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.740 at the close. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 1.76% or 0.270 points to end at 15.570 and Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA) was up 1.65% or 0.100 points to 6.180 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG), which lost 6.92% or 0.090 points to trade at 1.210 in late trade. Sider (LM:SID) declined 2.44% or 0.010 points to end at 0.400 and Inversiones Centenario SAA (LM:ICE) shed 1.82% or 0.100 points to 5.400.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 8 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 2.40% or 0.98 to $41.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.05% or 0.02 to hit $44.20 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.22% or 2.95 to trade at $1367.65 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3325, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7289.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 95.75.
