Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Non-Metal Minerals and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.32% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG), which rose 5.04% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.460 at the close. Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE) added 2.94% or 0.020 points to end at 0.700 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) was up 2.90% or 0.020 points to 0.710 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA), which lost 4.18% or 0.280 points to trade at 6.420 in late trade. Minsur (LM:MINi) declined 2.24% or 0.030 points to end at 1.310 and Atacocha (LM:ATB) shed 2.07% or 0.007 points to 0.331.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 14 to 10 and 11 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 2.97% or 1.33 to $46.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $48.55 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.35% or 4.70 to trade at $1349.30 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3625, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7822.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 94.95.
