Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Mining, Non-Metal Minerals and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.05% to hit a new 3-year high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Unacem (LM:CEL), which rose 3.04% or 0.090 points to trade at 3.050 at the close. Milpo (LM:MIL) added 2.53% or 0.130 points to end at 5.260 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) was up 2.28% or 1.12 points to 50.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX), which lost 7.14% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.07 in late trade. Minsur (LM:MINi) declined 2.62% or 0.050 points to end at 1.860 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) shed 1.44% or 0.020 points to 1.370.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 10 and 15 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.64% or 0.42 to $65.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.68% or 0.48 to hit $70.05 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.70% or 9.50 to trade at $1346.80 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.05% to 3.2110, while EUR/PEN rose 0.72% to 4.0076.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 89.06.
