Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Electricity and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Unacem (LM:CEL), which rose 2.39% or 0.070 points to trade at 3.000 at the close. Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) added 2.24% or 1.02 points to end at 46.65 and Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) was up 2.15% or 0.400 points to 19.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sider (LM:SID), which lost 6.25% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.450 in late trade. PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX) unchanged 6.25% or 0.00 points to end at 0.06 and Compania Minera Milpo SAA Class I (LM:MILi) shed 5.56% or 0.200 points to 3.400.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 26 to 11 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 3.14% or 1.92 to $59.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 3.12% or 2.02 to hit $62.79 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1318.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.54% to 3.2795, while EUR/PEN rose 0.72% to 4.0093.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 90.25.
