Benzinga - Colorado residents can purchase cannabis online thanks to a recently approved measure by the state House of Representatives.

The new bill would amend the law to allow online commerce, and requires that adults 21 and older take over the product from the retailer in person while providing an identification that matches the information given when purchasing the internet.

Moreover, introducing electronic transactions would allow dispensaries to avoid relying on cash.

"The goal here is to prevent a barrier for transactions to help businesses make sure that they can take these funds in so they're not all cash businesses as well," Democratic Rep. Said Sharbini said.

Sharbini, along with dellow chamber members William Lindstedt (D) and Robert Rodriguez (D), passed the bill in a 40-23 vote, reported Marijuana Moment.

New Legislative Push To Adress Delta-8 THC Legal Loophole State lawmakers are addressing health safety issues via a bill that seeks to set up a framework for regulating hemp, reported Colorado Politics.

Under Senate Bill 271, hemp products containing over 2.5 milligrams of delta-8 THC per serving would have to be sold at a dispensary instead of online or at a convenience store.

With the legislation, the lawmakers are addressing a legal loophole under which products developed due to the 2018 federal Farm Bill that legalized hemp is not subject to the exact testing requirements as cannabis.

Why the policy change? Delta-8 THC is a chemical component of the cannabis plant. Although delta-8 occurs naturally in minimal concentrations, it can produce a mild psychoactive effect in some people similar to delta-9 THC.
