Proactive Investors - Ocado Group PLC (LSE:LON:OCDO) has appointed IT and consulting veteran Adam Warby to be its new chairman.
He will join the board as an independent non-executive director from tomorrow, 1 November, before assuming the role of chair on 1 December, when current chair, Rick Haythornthwaite, will step down from the board after four years at the head of the table.
Warby is currently chair of Nasdaq-listed headhunting firm Heidrick & Struggles, having previously been chair of Swiss-based SoftwareOne software and cloud advice, NED at fintech SimCorp and a founder member of IT consulting and services provider Avanade Corporation in 2000, later their CEO for 11 years.
Tim Steiner, Ocado's chief executive, says Warby joins "at an important moment" in the company's development, with its technology live with 11 of its 13 partners globally, and efforts continue to "expand the scope and reach of our technology into new markets and sectors".
"As we work with our partners to scale their online capabilities and hone their operations, Adam's expertise as a leader in global technology and consulting will be a valuable asset to the board and leadership team."
