Investing.com – Norway equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Energy, Banking and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX fell 1.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY), which rose 1.46% or 0.52 points to trade at 36.11 at the close. Marine Harvest ASA (OL:MHG) added 0.84% or 1.20 points to end at 144.30 and Aker Solutions OL (OL:AKSOL) was up 0.56% or 0.20 points to 35.79 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS), which lost 6.47% or 1.16 points to trade at 16.76 in late trade. Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) declined 4.62% or 1.3 points to end at 26.0 and DNO International ASA (OL:DNO) shed 3.63% or 0.32 points to 8.36.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 94 to 70 and 30 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.41% or 0.59 to $41.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.12% or 0.49 to hit $43.42 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.50% or 6.65 to trade at $1341.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.43% to 9.4811, while USD/NOK rose 0.17% to 8.5483.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 96.54.
