Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Materials and Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 1.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS), which rose 4.52% or 0.88 points to trade at 20.34 at the close. Lerøy Seafood Group ASA (OL:LSG) added 4.08% or 18.8 points to end at 479.3 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) was up 4.00% or 1.84 points to 47.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which lost 7.37% or 0.35 points to trade at 4.40 in late trade. BW LPG Ltd (OL:BWLPG) declined 1.34% or 0.49 points to end at 36.20 and Frontline Ltd (OL:FRO) shed 0.47% or 0.25 points to 52.45.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 124 to 57 and 25 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 2.21% or 1.09 to $50.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 2.19% or 1.15 to hit $53.66 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.17 to trade at $1252.63 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.33% to 9.3925, while USD/NOK fell 1.10% to 8.3940.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.61% at 97.17.
