Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Insurance and Media sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 1.03% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Subsea 7 SA (OL:SUBC), which rose 5.69% or 6.3 points to trade at 117.1 at the close. Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) added 5.67% or 1.4 points to end at 25.4 and REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC) was up 5.30% or 0.07 points to 1.39 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Marine Harvest ASA (OL:MHG), which lost 2.06% or 3.20 points to trade at 152.30 in late trade. P/f Bakkafrost (OL:BAKKA) declined 1.35% or 4.40 points to end at 322.10 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) shed 0.86% or 0.42 points to 48.32.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 124 to 54 and 27 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.15% or 0.08 to $53.26 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $55.47 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.95% or 11.55 to trade at $1199.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.29% to 8.9408, while USD/NOK fell 0.37% to 8.3236.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 100.01.
