Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Diversified Financials and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Yara International ASA (OL:YAR), which rose 5.38% or 15.5 points to trade at 303.6 at the close. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) added 5.30% or 1.11 points to end at 22.05 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) was up 3.52% or 1.34 points to 39.41 in late trade.
Biggest losers included REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC), which lost 5.83% or 0.07 points to trade at 1.08 in late trade. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC) declined 3.94% or 11.0 points to end at 268.5 and Schibsted ASA B (OL:SBSTB) shed 3.66% or 6.80 points to 178.90.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 110 to 71 and 16 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.58% or 0.71 to $45.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.46% or 0.67 to hit $46.71 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.66% or 8.35 to trade at $1282.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.24% to 9.0930, while USD/NOK rose 0.92% to 8.3055.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.42% at 98.29.
