Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Banking and Insurance sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 declined 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR), which rose 6.37% or 0.26 points to trade at 4.34 at the close. Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) added 5.00% or 0.90 points to end at 18.90 and Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) was up 3.37% or 0.030 points to 0.920 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN), which lost 2.28% or 0.34 points to trade at 14.56 in late trade. Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) declined 2.17% or 3.12 points to end at 140.85 and Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) shed 2.00% or 0.020 points to 0.980.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 27 to 17 and 60 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.87% or 0.44 to $51.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.58% or 0.31 to hit $53.92 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.56% or 6.96 to trade at $1260.56 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.65% to 353.670, while USD/NGN fell 1.33% to 314.750.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 96.87.
