Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Banking and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 declined 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE), which rose 4.20% or 29.00 points to trade at 725.55 at the close. Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) added 3.75% or 0.030 points to end at 0.800 and Access Bank (LAGOS:ACCESS) was up 3.72% or 0.24 points to 6.53 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB), which lost 5.00% or 6.86 points to trade at 130.36 in late trade. Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT) declined 4.87% or 1.26 points to end at 24.61 and Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR) 0.00% or 0.00 points to 3.61.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 9 and 68 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 2.43% or 1.22 to $49.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 2.32% or 1.23 to hit $51.88 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.50% or 6.05 to trade at $1203.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.07% to 332.100, while USD/NGN fell 0.96% to 314.450.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 101.92.
