Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Insurance sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 fell 1.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG), which rose 3.77% or 0.80 points to trade at 20.20 at the close. Guiness Nig (LAGOS:GUINNES) added 2.10% or 2.10 points to end at 101.90 and Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) was up 1.60% or 2.10 points to 133.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT), which lost 9.25% or 0.260 points to trade at 2.550 in late trade. Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) declined 8.48% or 4.90 points to end at 52.75 and Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) shed 4.95% or 0.100 points to 1.920.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 68 to 24 and 13 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.51% or 0.31 to $61.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.43% or 0.28 to hit $65.17 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.65% or 8.60 to trade at $1317.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.26% to 445.160, while USD/NGN rose 0.28% to 361.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 90.04.
