Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Insurance, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 declined 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE), which rose 4.55% or 2.00 points to trade at 46.00 at the close. Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) added 2.13% or 0.030 points to end at 1.440 and Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE) was up 1.94% or 23.23 points to 1223.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN), which lost 4.96% or 0.84 points to trade at 16.11 in late trade. Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) declined 4.69% or 11.49 points to end at 233.51 and Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) shed 3.85% or 0.020 points to 0.510.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 39 to 27 and 28 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.31% or 0.16 to $51.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.49% or 0.28 to hit $57.51 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.61% or 7.83 to trade at $1282.17 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.14% to 425.060, while USD/NGN rose 0.98% to 360.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.59% at 93.55.
