Investing.com – Nigeria equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Banking and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 0.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC), which rose 3.55% or 0.55 points to trade at 16.27 at the close. Union Bank LG (LAGOS:UBN) added 1.15% or 0.05 points to end at 4.37 and Zenithbank (LAGOS:ZENITHB) was up 0.48% or 0.07 points to 14.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN), which lost 3.13% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.620 in late trade. Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) declined 1.52% or 0.01 points to end at 0.64 and Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) shed 1.11% or 0.010 points to 0.890.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 14 and 62 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.46% or 0.20 to $43.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.85% or 0.39 to hit $45.56 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.02% or 0.25 to trade at $1318.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.15% to 351.330, while USD/NGN fell 0.78% to 318.500.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 95.91.
