Investing.com – Nigeria equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 1.22% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL), which rose 4.98% or 12.00 points to trade at 240.11 at the close. Uacn Prop (LAGOS:UACN) added 3.93% or 0.59 points to end at 15.55 and Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR) was up 3.79% or 0.25 points to 6.84 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB), which lost 4.55% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.050 in late trade. Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) declined 1.89% or 0.010 points to end at 0.510 and Access Bank (LAGOS:ACCESS) shed 1.52% or 0.15 points to 9.75.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 45 to 38 and 18 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.75% or 0.37 to $49.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.47% or 0.26 to hit $55.88 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.81% or 10.39 to trade at $1285.29 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.33% to 422.840, while USD/NGN rose 1.27% to 359.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 93.51.
