Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Real Estate and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 1.45% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice SA (AMS:ATCE), which rose 0.40% or 0.50 points to trade at 124.40 at the close. TNT Express (AMS:TNTE) added 0.20% or 0.015 points to end at 7.660 and Relx NV (AMS:RELX) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 13.895 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA), which lost 3.17% or 0.28 points to trade at 8.43 in late trade. ING Groep (AMS:ING) declined 3.13% or 0.465 points to end at 14.385 and KPN Kon (AMS:KPN) shed 2.76% or 0.093 points to 3.280.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 184 to 32 on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 6.72% to 26.38.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.85% or 1.58 to $53.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 3.54% or 2.13 to hit $58.19 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.09% or 1.10 to trade at $1166.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1080, while EUR/GBP fell 0.66% to 0.7093.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 96.27.
