Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 1.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 2.08% or 0.115 points to trade at 5.653 at the close. SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO) added 0.82% or 0.10 points to end at 12.93 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) was up 0.17% or 0.040 points to 22.985 in late trade.
Biggest losers included DSM Kon (AS:DSMN), which lost 3.19% or 1.95 points to trade at 59.10 in late trade. Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) declined 2.87% or 1.79 points to end at 60.48 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) shed 2.44% or 0.50 points to 20.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 129 to 46 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.40% to 17.91.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.57% or 0.79 to $49.65 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.77% or 0.93 to hit $51.58 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.14% or 1.70 to trade at $1251.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1152, while EUR/GBP rose 1.47% to 0.8968.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 96.85.
