Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which rose 0.88% or 1.80 points to trade at 205.50 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) added 0.25% or 0.04 points to end at 18.15 and Unilever NV (AS:UNc) was down 0.06% or 0.02 points to 36.78 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which lost 3.07% or 0.49 points to trade at 15.48 in late trade. Philips Kon (AS:PHG) declined 1.86% or 0.51 points to end at 26.60 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) shed 1.83% or 0.38 points to 20.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 138 to 38 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.18% to 20.00.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.59% or 0.30 to $51.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.26% or 0.14 to hit $54.08 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.78% or 9.15 to trade at $1178.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.0673, while EUR/GBP fell 0.56% to 0.8421.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 100.80.
