Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Real Estate and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.76% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were OCI (AMS:OCI), which rose 4.35% or 1.085 points to trade at 26.015 at the close. Gemalto (AMS:GTO) added 0.45% or 0.36 points to end at 80.05 and NN Group (AMS:NN) was up 0.40% or 0.10 points to 25.08 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP), which lost 2.22% or 5.05 points to trade at 222.10 in late trade. Vopak (AMS:VOPA) declined 1.97% or 0.90 points to end at 44.65 and Aalberts Industries (AMS:AALB) shed 1.84% or 0.49 points to 26.44.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 160 to 85 and 4 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.18% to 24.13 a new 3-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.01% or 0.61 to $59.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.84% or 0.54 to hit $63.16 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.42% or 5.00 to trade at $1175.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1258, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.7159.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 95.15.
