Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 0.43% or 0.026 points to trade at 6.138 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) added 0.34% or 0.07 points to end at 20.64 and ASML Holding (AS:ASML) was up 0.27% or 0.26 points to 96.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gemalto (AS:GTO), which lost 5.38% or 2.81 points to trade at 49.53 in late trade. Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) declined 2.03% or 0.61 points to end at 29.39 and SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO) shed 1.65% or 0.22 points to 13.09.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 120 to 51 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 10.75% to 20.05 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 3.26% or 1.59 to $47.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 3.57% or 1.81 to hit $48.87 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.10% or 1.30 to trade at $1275.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.0975, while EUR/GBP fell 0.47% to 0.8974.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 98.37.
