Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO), which rose 0.78% or 0.48 points to trade at 62.00 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) added 0.69% or 0.039 points to end at 5.721 and Aegon (AS:AEGN) was up 0.65% or 0.024 points to 3.741 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 2.08% or 1.230 points to trade at 57.870 in late trade. Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) declined 1.68% or 0.61 points to end at 35.59 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) shed 1.48% or 0.83 points to 55.29.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 120 to 51 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 8.89% to 18.44.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.29% or 0.65 to $49.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.17% or 0.61 to hit $51.34 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.09% or 1.15 to trade at $1256.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.0996, while EUR/GBP rose 0.21% to 0.9022.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 97.90.
