Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Technology and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Heineken (AS:HEIN), which rose 2.24% or 1.65 points to trade at 75.29 at the close. NN Group (AS:NN) added 1.15% or 0.32 points to end at 27.71 and Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) was up 1.12% or 0.46 points to 41.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which lost 4.43% or 0.36 points to trade at 7.85 in late trade. KPN Kon (AS:KPN) declined 2.02% or 0.065 points to end at 3.148 and Aegon (AS:AEGN) shed 1.88% or 0.104 points to 5.435.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 111 to 63 and 5 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.18% to 23.46.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.30% or 0.61 to $47.71 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.70% or 0.35 to hit $50.60 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.18% or 2.10 to trade at $1166.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.25% to 1.1388, while EUR/GBP rose 0.94% to 0.7470.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 94.76.
