Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Healthcare and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 1.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Randstad NV (AS:RAND), which rose 2.45% or 1.05 points to trade at 43.89 at the close. Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT) added 1.68% or 0.35 points to end at 21.24 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.05% or 0.980 points to 94.660 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which lost 8.69% or 3.02 points to trade at 31.73 in late trade. ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) declined 3.47% or 1.40 points to end at 38.92 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) shed 1.60% or 0.04 points to 2.28.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 91 to 37 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.61% to 16.36.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.06% or 0.04 to $69.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.11% or 0.09 to hit $79.69 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.11% or 1.30 to trade at $1225.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.1469, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.8844.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 95.75.
