Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Healthcare and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.92% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 0.36% or 0.270 points to trade at 76.080 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 0.27% or 0.35 points to end at 128.80 and Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) was down 0.13% or 0.04 points to 27.43 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which lost 3.78% or 0.185 points to trade at 4.714 in late trade. Gemalto (AS:GTO) declined 3.03% or 1.40 points to end at 44.85 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) shed 2.34% or 0.520 points to 21.680.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 107 to 18 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 8.97% to 14.36.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.40% or 0.65 to $45.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.23% or 0.12 to hit $51.30 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.30% or 3.96 to trade at $1319.26 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.2017, while EUR/GBP rose 0.35% to 0.9294.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 91.97.
