Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which rose 0.83% or 0.23 points to trade at 28.11 at the close. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) added 0.81% or 0.03 points to end at 3.47 and Unilever PLC (AS:ULVR) was up 0.65% or 0.34 points to 52.34 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which lost 3.17% or 0.51 points to trade at 15.56 in late trade. IMCD NV (AS:IMCD) declined 3.04% or 4.35 points to end at 138.70 and Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) shed 2.94% or 36.60 points to 1,209.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 83 to 23 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.18% or 0.14 to $78.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.12% or 0.10 to hit $82.50 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.81% or 42.55 to trade at $2,312.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 104.76.
