Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which rose 1.46% or 0.52 points to trade at 36.17 at the close. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) added 1.06% or 0.28 points to end at 26.17 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was up 0.55% or 0.016 points to 2.938 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO), which lost 2.45% or 0.38 points to trade at 15.12 in late trade. Unilever NV (AS:UNc) declined 1.34% or 0.68 points to end at 50.11 and Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) shed 1.31% or 0.48 points to 36.56.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 71 to 54 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.17% to 10.57.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 2.97% or 1.51 to $49.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 2.63% or 1.50 to hit $55.50 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 2.38 to trade at $1275.58 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1726, while EUR/GBP rose 0.66% to 0.8985.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 93.72.
