Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Healthcare and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR), which rose 1.68% or 1.80 points to trade at 108.80 at the close. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) added 0.77% or 0.03 points to end at 3.64 and Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG) was up 0.76% or 0.21 points to 27.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which lost 2.22% or 0.47 points to trade at 20.74 in late trade. Randstad NV (AS:RAND) declined 1.77% or 0.76 points to end at 42.18 and Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) shed 1.57% or 0.90 points to 56.26.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 65 to 33 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.24% or 1.02 to $81.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.29% or 1.11 to hit $84.64 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.23% or 5.40 to trade at $2,368.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 104.83.
