Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 1.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Boskalis Westmin (AMS:BOSN), which rose 2.69% or 1.22 points to trade at 46.59 at the close. ING Groep (AMS:ING) added 2.53% or 0.375 points to end at 15.170 and ASML Holding (AMS:ASML) was up 2.46% or 2.46 points to 102.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL), which lost 1.23% or 0.20 points to trade at 16.45 in late trade. NN Group (AMS:NN) declined 0.38% or 0.10 points to end at 26.18 and Altice SA (AMS:ATCE) shed 0.08% or 0.10 points to 122.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 181 to 65 and 7 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 6.01% to 17.34.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.26% or 0.15 to $57.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.56% or 0.99 to hit $62.73 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.08% or 1.00 to trade at $1186.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.0881, while EUR/GBP rose 0.45% to 0.7100.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.15% at 97.53.
