Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 1.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 3.78% or 0.750 points to trade at 20.610 at the close. Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) added 3.65% or 0.163 points to end at 4.634 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) was up 3.35% or 1.76 points to 54.31 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which lost 0.95% or 2.10 points to trade at 218.55 in late trade. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 0.21% or 0.04 points to end at 16.70 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) shed 0.18% or 0.07 points to 37.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 82 to 43 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 15.28% to 12.85.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.59% or 0.73 to $46.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.31% or 0.64 to hit $49.41 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.53% or 18.98 to trade at $1223.32 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.58% to 1.1360, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8772.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.60% at 95.96.
