Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.69%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding (AMS:ASML), which rose 2.73% or 2.39 points to trade at 90.06 at the close. NN Group (AMS:NN) added 2.58% or 0.72 points to end at 28.86 and OCI (AMS:OCI) was up 2.00% or 0.590 points to 30.070 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vopak (AMS:VOPA), which lost 0.45% or 0.21 points to trade at 47.06 in late trade. Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa) declined 0.41% or 0.11 points to end at 26.66 and Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) shed 0.18% or 0.03 points to 16.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 131 to 82 and 4 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.30% to 16.98.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.82% or 0.80 to $44.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 2.68% or 1.32 to hit $50.56 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.05% or 11.50 to trade at $1105.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.0997, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.7055.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 97.36.
