Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 4.93% or 0.314 points to trade at 6.685 at the close. Aegon (AS:AEGN) added 4.11% or 0.191 points to end at 4.841 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 2.37% or 0.305 points to 13.155 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KPN Kon (AS:KPN), which lost 2.61% or 0.070 points to trade at 2.617 in late trade. Heineken (AS:HEIN) declined 2.38% or 1.69 points to end at 69.25 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) shed 1.34% or 0.190 points to 13.990.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 85 to 82 and 17 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.63% to 20.32.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 2.26% or 0.98 to $42.43 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 2.17% or 0.97 to hit $43.78 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.06% or 0.75 to trade at $1225.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.99% to 1.0747, while EUR/GBP fell 0.30% to 0.8602.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.96% at 99.94.
