Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI), which rose 3.81% or 4.10 points to trade at 111.80 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 3.48% or 24.30 points to end at 722.40 and IMCD NV (AS:IMCD) was up 3.12% or 4.70 points to 155.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which lost 1.54% or 0.06 points to trade at 3.70 in late trade. DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) declined 0.62% or 0.75 points to end at 119.40 and Unilever PLC (AS:ULVR) shed 0.61% or 0.36 points to 58.38.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 72 to 27 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 3.16% or 2.13 to $69.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 2.68% or 1.89 to hit $72.50 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.47% or 37.50 to trade at $2,579.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 101.49.
