Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.98% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 5.51% or 1.046 points to trade at 20.040 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 3.79% or 5.64 points to end at 154.44 and Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) was up 3.04% or 0.89 points to 30.12 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL), which lost 1.17% or 0.44 points to trade at 37.20 in late trade. Relx PLC (AS:REL) declined 0.90% or 0.170 points to end at 18.695 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) shed 0.86% or 0.66 points to 75.74.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 89 to 40 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 6.00% to 14.39.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.05% or 0.56 to $53.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.80% or 0.49 to hit $61.58 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.33% or 17.05 to trade at $1296.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.88% to 1.1404, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8665.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.73% at 95.593.
