Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.78% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 6.12% or 0.638 points to trade at 11.058 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 4.57% or 0.09 points to end at 1.99 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 3.40% or 5.40 points to 164.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which lost 1.71% or 0.047 points to trade at 2.706 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.62% or 1.440 points to end at 87.720 and Signify NV (AS:LIGHT) shed 1.22% or 0.28 points to 22.74.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 70 to 59 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 1.98% to 12.95.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.71% or 0.38 to $54.04 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.10% or 0.68 to hit $62.66 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.22% or 2.95 to trade at $1316.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.1377, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.8784.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 96.023.
