Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.50% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 3.49% or 0.705 points to trade at 20.900 at the close. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) added 2.31% or 0.062 points to end at 2.749 and Randstad NV (AS:RAND) was up 2.21% or 0.93 points to 43.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which lost 1.62% or 0.56 points to trade at 33.80 in late trade. ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) declined 1.36% or 0.50 points to end at 36.36 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) shed 1.24% or 0.27 points to 21.45.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 65 to 63 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 7.29% to 13.29 a new 3-month low.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 2.34% or 1.26 to $55.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 2.53% or 1.54 to hit $62.38 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.22% or 2.85 to trade at $1322.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.1470, while EUR/GBP rose 0.41% to 0.8764.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 95.232.
