Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Software & Computer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 2.84% or 0.44 points to trade at 15.77 at the close. ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) added 2.28% or 15.40 points to end at 691.20 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 1.72% or 16.40 points to 969.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included IMCD NV (AS:IMCD), which lost 1.57% or 2.15 points to trade at 134.40 in late trade. Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) declined 1.04% or 0.25 points to end at 23.86 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) shed 1.01% or 0.96 points to 93.88.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 49 to 47 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.14% or 0.89 to $78.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.04% or 0.86 to hit $83.48 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.82% or 19.20 to trade at $2,329.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 105.08.
