Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were NN Group NV (AS:NN), which rose 2.10% or 0.74 points to trade at 36.00 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 2.09% or 3.55 points to end at 173.65 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 2.07% or 1.740 points to 85.860 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which lost 1.11% or 0.028 points to trade at 2.489 in late trade. Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc) declined 1.01% or 0.44 points to end at 42.99 and Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) shed 0.63% or 0.160 points to 25.045.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 60 to 56 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.00% to 13.58.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.52% or 0.32 to $61.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.46% or 0.30 to hit $65.19 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.59% or 7.80 to trade at $1317.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.2319, while EUR/GBP fell 0.30% to 0.8831.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 90.03.
