Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Prosus (AS:PRX), which rose 2.11% or 0.83 points to trade at 39.84 at the close. Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) added 1.40% or 2.20 points to end at 159.60 and BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) was up 1.34% or 1.35 points to 101.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Exor NV (AS:EXOR), which lost 3.72% or 3.60 points to trade at 93.05 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 1.44% or 0.23 points to end at 15.62 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) shed 1.21% or 0.04 points to 3.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 53 to 47 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.51% or 1.08 to $72.55 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.35% or 1.01 to hit $76.09 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.18% or 4.85 to trade at $2,751.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.41% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 103.41.
