Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which rose 2.94% or 5.10 points to trade at 178.30 at the close. Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) added 1.44% or 1.26 points to end at 88.36 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 1.34% or 0.380 points to 28.680 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which lost 2.09% or 0.270 points to trade at 12.644 in late trade. Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) declined 1.61% or 0.088 points to end at 5.368 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) shed 1.57% or 0.36 points to 22.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 62 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 1.73% to 12.39.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.36% or 0.23 to $64.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.43% or 0.32 to hit $74.97 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.50% or 6.50 to trade at $1303.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1717, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.8754.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 93.86.
