Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) has cut the cost of its streaming service in over 30 countries in recent weeks, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
Netflix, which is available in over 190 countries and territories, is trying to appeal to customers around the world who have a continually growing list of streaming options.
Some of the countries the streaming service has slashed prices in include Middle Eastern countries such as Yemen, Jordan, Libya, and Iran. In addition, east African country Kenya and European nations Croatia, Slovenia, and Bulgaria make the list.
Meanwhile, countries in Latin America, such as Ecuador, Nicaragua, and Venezuela, have seen a reduction in subscription costs, as well as parts of Asia, including Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
The price cuts are said to apply to certain Netflix tiers in those markets. In some countries, it is reported to have halved the subscription cost.
