Investing.com – Morocco equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Hotels, Restaurants & Leisure, Pharmaceutical Industry and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares lost 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Nexans Maroc (CS:NEX), which rose 10.00% or 13.85 points to trade at 152.35 at the close. Cartier Saada (CS:CRS) added 5.96% or 1.12 points to end at 19.90 and Managem (CS:MNG) was up 5.01% or 42 points to 880 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Promopharm S.A. (CS:PRO), which lost 6.00% or 84 points to trade at 1316 in late trade. Fenie Brossette (CS:FBR) declined 5.99% or 5.99 points to end at 94.01 and Alliances (CS:ADI) shed 5.05% or 3 points to 65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 28 to 18 and 7 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 3.39% or 1.44 to $43.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 3.61% or 1.59 to hit $45.62 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.07% or 0.90 to trade at $1255.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.08% to 10.9480, while USD/MAD rose 0.28% to 9.6675.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 94.30.
