Investing.com – Morocco equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Forestry & Paper, Chemicals and Software & Computer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares fell 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Stroc Industrie (CS:STR), which rose 6.00% or 5.40 points to trade at 95.40 at the close. Maghreb Oxygene (CS:OXYG) added 5.00% or 5.00 points to end at 105.00 and Atlanta (CS:ATL) was up 3.02% or 1.79 points to 60.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonasid (CS:SOND), which lost 6.00% or 50 points to trade at 790 in late trade. Alliances (CS:ADI) declined 4.85% or 3 points to end at 51 and Snep (CS:SNP) shed 2.45% or 2.90 points to 115.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 12 and 5 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.41% or 0.62 to $44.49 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 2.32% or 1.14 to hit $50.38 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.14% or 12.50 to trade at $1106.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.02% to 10.7930, while USD/MAD fell 0.25% to 9.8180.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 97.42.
