Investing.com – Morocco equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares added 1.96%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Alliances (CS:ADI), which rose 9.99% or 24 points to trade at 269 at the close. Stroc Industrie (CS:STR) added 9.98% or 5.14 points to end at 56.62 and Involys (CS:INV) was up 7.75% or 10.50 points to 146.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CDM (CS:CDM), which lost 5.98% or 32 points to trade at 503 in late trade. Nexans Maroc (CS:NEX) declined 5.94% or 10.00 points to end at 158.30 and Promopharm S.A. (CS:PRO) shed 5.94% or 95 points to 1505.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 35 to 14 and 5 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.93% or 0.47 to $49.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.54% or 0.30 to hit $55.70 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.19% or 2.42 to trade at $1275.48 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was up 0.04% to 11.1030, while USD/MAD fell 0.10% to 9.4374.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 93.31.
