Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Industrials and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.54% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which rose 6.67% or 3.480 points to trade at 55.690 at the close. Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) added 3.03% or 1.130 points to end at 38.450 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) was up 2.71% or 0.45 points to 17.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which lost 10.46% or 56.290 points to trade at 481.810 in late trade. El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) declined 5.80% or 9.760 points to end at 158.570 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) shed 5.31% or 5.420 points to 96.720.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 115 to 70 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 3.10% or 39.25 to $1227.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.43% or 1.53 to hit $43.13 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.79% or 1.28 to trade at $44.56 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.25% to 20.8329, while EUR/MXN rose 0.97% to 22.6374.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 98.99.
