Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 1.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO), which rose 4.94% or 1.78 points to trade at 37.81 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES) added 2.06% or 5.60 points to end at 277.65 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) was up 1.36% or 0.35 points to 26.02 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (BMV:FEMSAUBD), which lost 4.56% or 8.01 points to trade at 167.70 in late trade. Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) declined 4.25% or 1.00 points to end at 22.51 and Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA) shed 4.05% or 0.61 points to 14.46.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 112 to 102 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.70% or 18.79 to $2,650.21 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.20% or 0.88 to hit $74.01 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.84% or 0.64 to trade at $76.57 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.30% to 20.64, while EUR/MXN rose 0.62% to 21.27.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 108.78.
