Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 1.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES), which rose 5.07% or 13.33 points to trade at 276.39 at the close. Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO) added 2.60% or 0.32 points to end at 12.65 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA) was up 2.55% or 0.35 points to 14.09 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:BIMBOA), which lost 5.25% or 3.68 points to trade at 66.43 in late trade. Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO) declined 4.43% or 0.39 points to end at 8.41 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO) shed 4.09% or 1.91 points to 44.76.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 115 to 108 and 19 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.25% or 32.60 to $2,647.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.13% or 0.09 to hit $71.25 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.17 to trade at $74.71 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.59% to 19.41, while EUR/MXN rose 0.48% to 21.67.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 100.45.
