Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 1.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA), which rose 1.23% or 0.270 points to trade at 22.300 at the close. Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) added 1.10% or 2.35 points to end at 216.41 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) was up 0.68% or 1.19 points to 175.42 in late trade.
Biggest losers included VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which lost 4.71% or 0.80 points to trade at 16.18 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) declined 4.59% or 15.82 points to end at 329.16 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) shed 3.83% or 0.610 points to 15.300.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 165 to 156 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.02% or 13.60 to $1319.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.72% or 1.10 to hit $62.81 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $66.42 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.01% to 18.8428, while EUR/MXN rose 0.00% to 23.0485.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.60% at 90.31.
